A lot of stables to see in this typical market, the atmosphere is unique and it ll drag you in. Here you can buy a lot of typical food , from pork to the most exotic fish you can eat. You don't know how to cook it ? No worries , after you select your fish you can ask to be cooked for you in one of the restaurant at the 1sr floor ! So just go , select and enjoy your meal. Absolutely to try

There are variety of seafood . Fresh and clean . The price is reasonable. On second floor has many restaurants that provide a cooked seafood and okinawa local dishes

It was a kinda cool place. Not much or the old world market charm, but the place to pick up all of the tchotchkes you need to bring home with a little authentic traditional items sprinkled in.The restaurants are hit or miss much like all tourists driven areas. The seafood market has some good selections, but is relatively small.

Visited this as part of a cooking class tour. This is temporary relocated market, but well ventilated and lighting.

good place for fresh seafood, but I think it's a lot of travelers knowing here, they all know different kind of language specially Chinese and mandarin, you can buy all, then go up for cooking 3 things, every person have to pay 500 yen.

First you select and pay your fish on the first floor (fish market) and then you go to the second floor (restaurants) to enjoy it. Tasty!

Lots of different stores. We loved the place where you could pet the owls!

There is a store selling Okinawa tasty pork soft bone noodles, good value for money.

It's a great place to buy souvenirs from Okinawa and there are some small hidden Bar's with Izakaya's. At the start of the Market the thing's are more pricey, but at the end its more cheaper.A place to visit for a cultural experience.

Great spa for sea food when you visit Naha, both the market itself and the shopping street surrounding are worth your visit, you can buy all kinds of seafood and ask the restaurants to cook for you. Make sure you have enough space in your stomach before visit

Beautiful fish selection on the first floor. Shopkeepers can speak Mandarin and Cantonese as well. Floors were not dangerously slippery and wet.Food on the second floor corner stall was not great, in light of all the amazing food we had had over the past few days. The deep fried fish was underwhelming and the soba noodles were not as tasty as I had eaten elsewhere. Tuna sashimi was good, though.

Total 2 floor.1st floor selling sea food.2nd floor selling cooked food with small restaurant.

We like to visit the local markets when we travel, and this is no exception. Seafood markets are particularly a must-go, because I love seafood! Our first proper meal was at First Makishi Public Market. The entrance to the market is quite hidden, and initially we thought they were closed on Sunday because the streets outside were dead quiet. Enter the seafood market and it's a different world! There are lots of stalls to choose from and some of them have Chinese staff :) Remember to bargain!! Choose your seafood and then they will bring you upstairs to one of the many restaurants where you have to pay a service fee for food preparation / cooking.

Hidden behind several stores, the public market building can be hard to find. The ground floor is mostly a fish and meat market. Lots of tourists. Market workers are friendly without being pushy. Second floor has a large food court with several Japanese styles. Seafood purchased downstairs can be prepared at several of the restaurants upstairs. Renovations are planned so check in advance.

This place is bustling with people! Seafoods there are fresh and spectacular.upstairs have restaurant that you could eat at, but I recommend buying food from downstairs and eat instantly

A network of covered shopping streets. They mostly sell cheap souvenirs and clothes, but there are also a few decent restaurants.

Great place to shop for fresh seafood, wagyu beef and agu pork!

A bit underwhelming once you've been to the bigger markets in the mainland. Market on the first floor and restaurants on the second. But still I'd imagine you can get a good meal here.

The new location is clean and dry, but lack the old market feels which I so looking forward to. But do pop in and get some fresh and exotic seafood at very reasonable price.

A good place to sample Okinawan cuisine. We ate at the restaurant called ã‚ã ã‚“. The food is tasty and service is good and fast. It’s also possible to order half- serving so it’s quite cheap. We paid 1,800 yen in total for four dishes. The downside is that it’s a bit smelly because of the market downstairs.

The price of almost everything is cheaper than other place! Really need to go there! You can buy seafood and bring them to restaurant to cook in either your way or Japanese style in only Yen 500 per person's for 3 kinds of seafood! Amazing!

We were there a few days before the closure and the day of closure. Witnessed the event. Many turned up to watch the parade/ ceremony. Very interesting market. Selling seafood yet maintained so clean. Naha's biggest and most popular market is this Makishi Public Market, where the first floor is filled with various marine products while the second floor is the dining area with many restaurants and eateries. One can pick his seafood on the first floor and then have it cooked however he likes at any eatery on the second floor for a fee.

Not a very big market but a must visit to look at the nice selection of seafood at the ground floor and have a meal at the 2nd floor.

We got a big plate of sashimi for only 1000 yen. Super fresh and good. It is good to shop for sea grapes and other fresh produce here as well. You can buy the seafood and bring them upstairs for the restaurant to cook. We did not do this as we just wanted sashimi. So we sat and ate at a eating area on level 1.

Really cool place off the beaten path. Fish market downstairs and restaurants upstairs. While we didn’t choose things from downstairs, the meal upstairs was still very delicious.

It was a cool experience buying raw seafood on the first floor and going to the second floor to cook your meals. One crab was about 5600 yen, fish 1700 yen and large shrimp was 400 yen a piece... our total was 9000 yen without cooking fees of 500 yen a head. If you’re on a budget then proceed to the eateries directly on the second floor instead and order from their menu, which is more affordable. We ate at kiraku eatery, and their shrimp fried rice, sashimi plate and refute were excellent and prices reasonable

We ordered seafood at level 1 and they bring us to level 2 to cook. ¥550 per adult to cook the seadood not inclusive of the seafood prices. Kids free when u order their fried rice and noodles.

Seafoods market in downtown , you can purchase seafoods at first floor from many booths then paying some cost to cooking it on second floor , overall are good except most items are too pricy .

walk around to see and meet the locals. A variety of local products, fresh food and etc. you can pick seafood / food and cooks at the level 2 restaurant. Some do speak chinese and english. good experience , clean market.
Geoffrey Malembi
Wide variety of fresh seafood, prices vary but are not bad. The cleanliness is what I have an issue with,it is not noticeably dirty, but the cooking staff in some of the restaurants upstairs have a lot of greasy stains on their clothes.
Ian Lee
Though touristy, it's still a great experience to pick fresh seafood downstairs and have it prepped upstairs by the restaurants

Nice and clean fish market right in the middle of town and city.On second floor, there are plenty of local restaurants and fresh food for visitors and locals to enjoy.

This is a cute market and the only one I know of in Naha. I enjoyed walking through but would have liked if there were more options for food/snacks
Calvin Wee
Fresh and cheap if for sashimi lovers. Buy and cook will be expensive thou.

Tourist place. Not really worth it. Go to department store. Prices are better and taste exactly the same.

This is a public market which you can get many fresh produce here. Things can be found are fresh fishes, fish cake, pork, beef...If you want to have a look at what the Japanese market is like, this is a good place to visit. It is clean and tidy. The vendors here are helpful too.You can buy the produce here and they can prepared and cook for you at the floor above, an interesting concept. So do remember to give this place a visit when you are at Naha Okinawa.

Ground floor sells seafood and sashimi. And you eat your food on the upper floor. You will have to pay for the restaurant to prepare your crabs and cooked seafood. Overall, some food are a bit expensive but they tasted really sweet and fresh. A plate of sweet prawns cost Y500, 5 scallops Y500, Uni sea urchin Y4000, swordfish Y1500, big clams like your fist size Y1100 each. Garfield orange crabs $3900 for steaming. There’s some noodles and rice upstairs in case seafoods are not filling. A good experience for a 1 time visit. Sellers are friendly and not pushy. This alcoholic drink is lime based, nice Y600. Found it in supermarket for Y248. There’s some old buildings with parking facilities around here. Cost Y400 for parking 1.5 hrs but you need to leave car keys behind.
Silver& Gin
Not so big. You can find fresh seafood and ask them to cook on the 2nd floor. There are also dried food.
Ling Tori
So many seafood to choose from. Very fresh. Worth to take a walk from metro station to this market. Good bargain.

Quite a small place, limited seats to eat what we bought. Seafood is fresh, as expected.
yfw888
Kiosks/restaurants in upper floor and the market at lower floor. You can buy seafoods in the market and ask for cooking service on upper restaurants with charges.
